Finally smart classrooms are a possibility in Lakshadweep. Praful Patel, the administrator of the island announced the same a few days back. His idea to transform all classrooms in the island into smart classrooms came in on the day of ‘Praveshnolsavam’, an event to welcome new students. The administrator promised to give electronic tablets to Lakshadweep domicile students who are pursue higher education. During his speech he emphasised on a zero-tolerance policy towards drug peddlers and traffickers.
Patel also promised modern infrastructure in all 48 schools under the union territory of Lakshadweep. To ensure holistic development of students, Patel pledged maximum support for sports activities. Students who perform brilliantly in classes 10 and 12 will be recognised and rewarded with cash prizes. Patel stressed on the importance of discipline, maintaining dress codes and ensuring the upkeep of school premises while interacting with teachers. He suggested celebrating students’ birthdays in the classroom that would create a homely atmosphere. A close relation between teachers, students and parents is essential and it has to be nurtured in the best possible way.
