The Space Education Centre and Innovation Hub at the Shillong Science Centre in Shillong have been inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Sangma. He advised the students to remain curious, creative & innovative and even to take full advantage of the Shillong Science Centre. The innovation hub divisions like robotics, idea lab, design studio, chemistry & biology laboratory in order to help students to quench their thirst for science and further innovate as well as to experiment. There is also a 50-seater digital planetarium within the same building.
At the event the Chief Minister said that the whole world the leading economies are those that are driven by innovations, innovations is an integral part of any economy of a country. Innovation drives the economy and ensures that services and products are delivered efficiently.
He further added that an initiative of the Centre’s Department of Science and Technology is the Space Education Centre & Innovation Hub which is also developed by the Union Culture Ministry’s National Council of Science Museums.
Entrepreneurs and industrial sectors grow only through innovation that leads to the growth of economies as said by Sangma. A D Choudhury, National Council of Science Museums director said that the mandate of NCSM is to create Science museums & innovative hubs and the centre in Shillong is the 34th that has been created.
