The 14th All India Inter Unit Bal Bharati Sports Meet 2023, co-hosted by Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura and Rohini, under the aegis of Sports Council, Child Education Society (CES), the parent body of Bal Bharati Schools, was a resounding success. The CES with a legacy of 79 glorious years is committed to promotion of games and sports under mentorship of Mr. Nikhil Channa, President CES & Chairperson, Sports Council CES.
The 14thAll India Inter Unit Bal Bharati Sports Meet 2023 scheduled from 13 to 15 October began with a grand Opening ceremony on 13 October at BBPS, Pitampura – a display of extravagant cultural performances, incredible sports drills, and impressive Band performances with minutely synchronized March past contingents of all 24 BBPS units. The ceremony presided by Shri P. C. Maurya, IRS Commissioner, Income Tax, and Shri Yogesh Pal, Deputy Director Education, Sports witnessed opulence & synergy befitting a glorious festival of Sports. Matches commenced in seven games namely Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Chess, Tennis, Table Tennis, Volleyball at BBPS Pitampura & Rohini with 1300 plus students from 24 units of Bal Bharati Schools exhibiting their exceptional sports skills. With GARUD, the mighty eagle as our mascot, the participating athletes exhibited sheer strength, focus, resilience, and stamina, the true hallmarks of sports persons over three days.
The Closing Ceremony at BBPS, Rohini on 15 October 2023 commenced with a grand welcome of the esteemed Chief Guest Mr. Himanshu Gupta, Director Education, GNCT of Delhi and the Guest of Honour Mr. Mukesh Kalia, President, Delhi Basketball Association and Vice President Delhi Olympic Association. The dignitaries were greeted by Ms. Meenu Goswami, Principal, BBPS Pitampura and Ms. Geeta Gangwani, Principal, BBPS Rohini. They were honoured with a Guard of Honour and received a warm welcome from troupe of Scouts &Guides.
This was followed by a spectacular cultural programme presented by the ebullient students of BBPS Rohini. The highlight of the evening was the Prize Distribution Ceremony, where the outstanding achievements in all the games were awarded. The trophy for overall Winner of the Championship was presented to Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura. The atmosphere was electric as cheers resounded for the winning teams. The Sports Meet will be remembered not only for the fierce competition but also for the spirit of unity and sportsmanship that prevailed throughout the event.
