Submission date extends: Comments on National Education Policy

by

Deadline to submit a review on new National Education Policy is extended to July 31, 2019. The announcement was made by the Minister of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Ramesh Pokhriyal.

The draft of new National Education Policy is undergoing review. Stakeholders of education and public are reading and discussing together to come out with a full-proof reformed policy. Conferences, symposiums and public discussions are being held across India.

It has been observed that the major concern that highlights in these gatherings is a short term. The previous deadline to submit suggestions on National Education Policy was June 30, 2019.

“June 30 is a very limited time to come out with suggestions and analysis of NEP. The decisions will need much more time,” said TRSMA President S Srinivas Reddy at a symposium organised by NISA.

Many delegates had raised this concern. As a relief for all, the HRD ministry has made this announcement. “Public and the stakeholders will now have until July 31, 2019, to present their suggestions on the NEP.”

Reports confirm that during the Question Hour in the Upper House, the HRD minister informed, “The report (on the draft NEP) has been put on a public domain for suggestions. The draft has been prepared after discussions at all levels. And the date for submitting comments will be extended by a month.”
