Facing many hardships since her childhood, woman entrepreneur Prerna Jhunjhunwala, who has marked her position in the field of education, grew up teaching kids of the people who used to work in factories. She instinctively knew that she wanted to pursue a career in education. The entrepreneur started her first chain of schools in Singapore following the completion of her higher education in the New York University. She started her first school in heartland of Singapore which she eventually scaled up to seven schools across Singapore.
Prerna Jhunjhunwala (Founder of Creative Galileo and Little Paddington) started the first e-learning app to leverage a character-based learning model called “Creative Galileo” for children between 3 to 10 years, which weaves together the best of education and entertainment to create personalised integrated learning experiences for young minds.
The purpose of this software is to help children between the ages of three and eight with their reading development. After completing her studies at education institutions like IIM, IIT and University of New York, Prerna moved to Singapore with a vision to modernize and upscale the education imparted to children in their budding or formative years.
Prerna Jhunjhunwala’s company launched two applications – Toondemy and Little Singham, where they had a successful one crore downloads. It was the only kids’ learning app that breached the top 20 apps on India’s Play Store. According to Prerna Jhunjhunwala’s LinkedIn profile, the programme provides kids with gamification, narrative movies and a customised learning experience.
An amount of Rs 60 crore (approximate) was invested in the company in 2022, where the start-up was valued in 2023, at 40 million dollars (Rs 330 crore). On future strategy, Prerna Jhunjhunwala mentioned that she has been planning to expand into new geographies and that the company has also been planning to launch content in vernacular languages.
