Summer Vacation extended in Madhya Pradesh due to Heatwaves

As the heatwave situation in Madhya Pradesh has worsened, the state government has decided to extend summer holidays for schools. According to reports, schools are to remain close for classes 1 – 5 till June 30. Additionally, students of classes 6 – 12 will follow a different schedule from June 20 – 30. They will have a morning schedule which will decrease students’ exposure to the heatwave condition in the state. The heatwave condition all over India has prompted many state boards to extend summer vacation for students. West Bengal, Jharkhand and now Madhya Pradesh has taken similar steps. School for standards 1 – 5 will resume on July 1st. Classes 6 – 12 will follow the regular schedule from July 1. School authorities need to be vigilant as to how students are keeping. Students are advised to be hydrated and expose themselves as less as they can to the heat.
