India has taken a significant leap in space technology with Hyderabad-based startup Take Me 2 Space launching AI-driven satellite laboratories. This groundbreaking initiative enables students, researchers, and businesses to remotely operate satellites, democratising access to space sciences.
For the first time, real-time satellite operations are available beyond government agencies and premier research institutions. By making satellite technology more accessible, Take Me 2 Space aims to strengthen India’s position in the global space industry alongside leading nations such as the USA and China.
The startup’s initiative is particularly beneficial for schools and universities. Educational institutions can subscribe to the service, allowing students to log in remotely, upload their code, and interact with real satellites—much like a modern-day robotics or computer lab.
Beyond academia, the project has already attracted customers, including from the GIS and data analytics sectors and educational institutions. Take Me 2 Space also plans to establish AI-powered data centres in orbit, shifting computational resources to space rather than relying on Earth-based infrastructure.
Following a demonstration mission with ISRO, the startup is preparing to launch two operational satellites, marking a transformative step in India’s space education and private sector involvement. This initiative is set to reshape space research and innovation, making advanced satellite operations more accessible to learners and professionals across the globe.
