Teacher training is the key – Sabbineni Srinivasa Rao, Principal, Thrividha English Medium High School, Nuzvid, Andhra Pradesh

by admin

Sabbineni Srinivasa Rao is an ex-serviceman who served in Indian Navy for 15 years and later plunged into school education by starting Thrividha English Medium High School in 2009. Providing quality education to rural students has been a mission that drives him. A disciplinarian and a humanitarian, he believes teacher training is crucial for the development of the education sector. He participated in the Kargil war and is a recipient of the best teacher award from the State Government.

Education at the grass-root level especially primary education is the most important for the students for better future. They have been sticking to it and implementing innovative methods and updating themselves regularly and improving the standards among the students. They feel every student has special ability. They have to observe every student and bring out their talent but it is not that easy. They need to engage and monitor their progress regularly.

Since the inception of school in 2009 in Nuzvid with 450 students, there is a constant improvement in all aspects be it academics, social and mental well-being, personality development and change in the way students look at life which is why the strength has grown to 2,200 students. There is huge emphasis on moral values.  There is no doubt that school managements need to do their best but the onus also lies on parents, government and the society as well.

There is a great need for teacher training and updating oneself with the technology. A well trained teacher can only train the students so the government should give top most priority in training teachers all over India. If teachers are not trained properly ultimately it effects on the future of students as a whole on our country. The education policy needs to be implemented well. For a 140 crore population out of which 30 to 40 crore are students, prioritizing education becomes important. If the academic fraternity is not trained well, it will have a disastrous effect. Whether it is a government or private school the academic fraternity   should be trained and polices should be implemented and at the same time the teacher should be given freedom to understand the child.

His journey as change maker and his views  on the changes he wishes to see in  the education sector is to make education more purposeful  to individual as  well as  to  the nation as a whole. Every school correspondent is unique in his/her approach in improving the standard of education. When  the approach is  appropriate, automatically  school develops in leaps and bounds as well as education standards among the students.

As an ex-serviceman who served in the Indian Navy submarine  arm for  12 years, he faced many hardships while working  in submarines (under water) under extreme difficult conditions. He continued his studies through distance learning from Andhra University. Later he took voluntary retirement and did his B.Ed., at the age of 40 through regular college. He realized that if you have vision, no one can stop you from achieving success. He wants to ignite such kind of spark among students through his school. With his determination, grit and dedication along with his wife’s  support he wants to provide quality  education to rural  students.

Academic fraternity should be trained and polices should be implemented properly. At the same time, the teacher should be given freedom to understand the child
