In my classroom, I have always believed that education is not confined to lessons in a textbook. When I remind my children that even a small act of helping a struggling classmate can change someone’s life, I see them practising kindness—and that gives me the deepest satisfaction. These moments remind me that values are as important as knowledge.
Growing Together
I often tell my students that while their class teacher may change every year, their classmates will accompany them through every journey—ups and downs, victories and failures. When I see them standing by each other, I feel assured that they are learning the true meaning of friendship, empathy, and togetherness.
Challenges Turned into Opportunities
Like every teacher, I too face challenges—restless classrooms, varied learning levels, and discipline issues. I still remember one child who constantly disturbed everyone. Words failed, until silence spoke. When I stopped engaging with him, he realised his mistake, sent me apology letters, and gradually transformed. That moment touched me deeply—it showed me that even struggles can turn into life-changing lessons.
The True Purpose
As an English teacher for grades 4 to 6, I enjoy spending time with children, exploring stories, language, and imagination. Although I often work within a tight syllabus, my journey has never been solely about completing lessons. It has always been about shaping human beings for a brighter tomorrow.
I often share with my students that knowledge is more powerful than appearances. I give them the example of a boy from a village, who did not own branded clothes like his peers. Yet, when questions were asked in college, he was the one who answered, who qualified, who topped. That story reminds them that real strength lies in wisdom, not in labels.
The buddy system in our school strengthens this belief further, as I see my children helping and guiding each other. In these small acts of empathy and learning, I see my purpose fulfilled—because while knowledge sharpens the mind, values shape the soul.
Continuing the Journey
This teaching journey has given me countless moments that touch my heart and shape my purpose. With pride in what has been achieved, I continue this path with even greater determination—and with the promise to always give my best.
