The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (Telangana BIE) has implemented significant changes regarding the improvement exams for English practicals. Students seeking to enhance only their English practical scores will not have the option to appear for an improvement exam. This rule applies to both first and second-year students.
However, the Board will permit students retaking all subjects, including all practical exams, in their second year to attempt the English practical improvement exam.
Additionally, students who completed their first-year intermediate education under other state boards or different boards within Telangana, such as CBSE, ICSE, or TOSS, and gained direct admission to the second year, must take both first and second-year English practical exams during their second year. These students are exempted from writing the Ethics and Human Values exam as they will be attending both years’ English practical exams.
The Board has scheduled the final practical exams for English, applicable to both general and vocational streams, for January 31 (first year) and February 1 (second year).
In another update, the Board has increased the number of questions in the English Paper I. The total number of questions increased from 16 to 17 by adding a new “match the following” question to Section C.
The Telangana BIE has also released the schedule for the upcoming intermediate exams. It will conduct theory exams from March 5 to 25, starting with first-year exams on March 5 and second-year exams on March 6. The Board has scheduled practical exams between February 3 and 22. Meanwhile, Telangana BIE has set the Ethics and Human Values exam for old students on January 29, and the Environmental Education exam for all students on January 30.
