To strengthen the education sector, the Telangana state government has adopted a new policy focusing on the enhancement of government schools across the region. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy instructed Education department Secretary Burra Venkatesham to formulate comprehensive plans designed to strengthen all government schools within a span of three years.
The chief minister’s directives include the development of proposals for establishing semi-residential schools alongside integrated residential facilities throughout Telangana. This initiative marks a step forward in ensuring accessible and quality education for all students under the state’s purview.
The CM also highlighted the importance of expanding educational opportunities by proposing the integration of early childhood education up to the third standard within Anganwadi centres, drawing inspiration from the framework of play schools. This measure is expected to enhance foundational learning experiences for young learners across the state.
The CM stressed the need to facilitate educational facilities in students’ native villages to increase local access to education. He also advocated for the recruitment of an additional teacher in Anganwadi centres to augment educational delivery and support.
Further, the government plans to establish semi-residential schools up to the fourth standard, complemented by provisions for transport services catering to students enrolled in these institutions. Beyond governmental allocations, the CM also urged the utilisation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds to enhance facilities and resources in government schools.
