Telangana Mines and Geology Department to go paperless soon

The Mines and Geology Department of Telangana has developed and implemented online modules in terms of going paperless and for the ease of doing business.

On July 11, 2018, the then Minister for Mines and Geology KT Rama Rao, inaugurated the Online Mineral Concession Applications. The Department is progressively phasing towards a total paperless mineral administration ever since.

The Department IT in-house Team has developed two more online modules- Online Mineral Dealer Transit Passes (OMDTS) and Online Temporary Permits (OTP), to make ease of doing business towards improved and transparent mineral administration and facilitate entrepreneurs/stakeholders to utilize online services, without manual interference.

Online Mineral Dealer Transit Passes will facilitate mineral dealers in the state to file online applications for permits to despatch finished/processed mineral from the processing unit to the end user.

Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government & Commissioner Industrial Promotion and Principal Secretary to Government ITE&C Department, inaugurated the two newly developed online modules and dedicated the online operability and functionality to the entrepreneurs/stakeholders on Monday.

Government granted permission to the Department to procure smartphones and tablets for automation of the functionality of the officers in the fieldwork. The smartphones and tablets were distributed to all the Officers at Directorate, Regional and District level.
