Is there a secret behind gifted children? Research suggests there is- parental support plays a critical role in enabling a child attain his or her full intellectual, artistic and athletic potential
I am always curious to get background information from the parents of children who are top of the class and ask them several questions about their kids, early intellectual stimulation. These questions are born out of my desire to understand intelligence and how we can influence it, rather than accept the idea that it is determined mostly by genetics. Prachi Pandey’s father replied “My wife read to the feutus daily before the baby was born and after birth we have been reading to Prachi from the very beginning. We thought it would make her smarter and we think it did.” Today Prachi can read encyclopedias, and surf on the internet at the age of 6. She has a photogenic memory and the entire school is amazed at her ability to read and understand.
Recent research into the early childhood experiences of unusually talented adults has revealed that their early childhood environments were exceptionally supportive and enriched. It has been established that parental support plays a critical role in enabling a child attain his or her full intellectual, artistic and athletic potential. These parents have found a key to their children’s development. Such early stimulation can dramatically improve intellectual development and maximize incredible potential of human brain. You will be surprised to know the effect of emotional bonding on children with their parents. Therefore parents must have positive influence on their children and be effective role models.
Genius Brothers: Shravan and Sanjay Kumaran
The founders of Go Dimensions, Shravan and Sanjay Kumaran, began their exciting journey of sprouting into computer geniuses at the age of 6 and 4 respectively. In an interview with Brainfeed, they share their secret behind becoming unbelievably young computer coding enthusiasts.
“We used to play virtual car racing games when our father, Kumaran Surendran, started teaching us coding. We were really good at math so our logic was pretty good. We both were picking up all the concepts and dad was teaching computer programming really quickly. We started developing our own applications and released our first app at age of 12 (Shravan) and 10 (Sanjay).”
The father was the guiding light who paved the way for these extraordinary geniuses.
The extraordinary growth of the children depends on us and it may be worthwhile to learn some fundamental skills towards this goal. These skills can make us and our progeny more successful in life and help realize our true abundance. The most important of these skills is how to develop and cherish a powerful and loving relationship with your children through bonding activities.
By raising one generation to realize its full potential, we could change the world immediately. Think what a generation of emotionally healthy and extremely intelligent young people could do for us all.
Children really are the hope of the world. Parents – you can make them into geniuses.
