Prime Minister Mr Narendranath Modi has stated in a press conference that the union budget of 2022-23 will be extremely beneficial in implementing the National Education Policy 2020 on the ground.
He is also keen on setting up a national digital university which, according to him, can be a solution to the recurring shortage of seats in the country.
In a webinar, the prime minister of the country stated that the union budget 2022-23 has looked into the core areas of the education sector and the policies that have been made will be extremely helpful in dealing with the problems. The union budget looks into five core areas of the education sector, namely the universalization of the quality of education, urban planning and design, skill development, AVGC (animation visual effects gaming comic) and internalisation.
The prime minister also pointed out how the education sector worldwide was dependent on digital connectivity during the times of the pandemic.
“We are seeing how the digital divide is rapidly shrinking in India. Innovation is ensuring inclusion for us,” the prime minister stated. He also mentioned the various offerings like ‘e-Vidya’, ‘one class one channel’, ‘digital labs’ and ‘digital university’ were going to be super beneficial for the students.
The prime minister also stated that learning in one’s mother language would be extremely helpful for the cognitive development of the students. He stated the process of learning in one’s mother tongue has already started in many states.
According to Mr Narendranath Modi, the digital university will solve the issue of shrinking seats in the country and is a landmark initiative by the government.
“I am seeing that power in the digital university which can completely eliminate the problem of shortage of seats that we experience in our country,” the prime minister stated.
