The Uttar Pradesh government has implemented comprehensive strategies, such as providing invigilators with ID cards and establishing a five-tier monitoring system, to prevent cheating in the upcoming UP Board exams, which will involve over 55 lakh students. Furthermore, the Uttar Pradesh (UP) government is actively preparing to enforce significant measures to curb cheating and ensure foolproof security during the upcoming UP Board Exams 2024.
In an unprecedented initiative, room invigilators will receive ID cards with barcodes, aiming to improve monitoring and deter malpractice. To effectively combat cheating, a comprehensive five-level monitoring system will be established. Monitoring operations will be managed from a central control room in Lucknow, as well as in the districts and five regional centers. Question papers will undergo stringent camera surveillance, with police and Local Intelligence Units (LIU) closely monitoring examination centers. Additionally, the Special Task Force (STF) will maintain vigilance over any activities associated with the cheating mafia.
Close monitoring of question paper storage facilities internally will also be done, alongside external CCTV surveillance. This measure is designed to thwart any attempts at tampering or unauthorized access to question papers. The UP Police and LIU will collaborate with the education department to oversee the conduct of board examinations.
With these proactive measures and collaborative endeavors, the UP government strives to establish a fair and secure environment for students participating in the board exams. This year, an astonishing 55,25,290 students have enrolled for the high school and intermediate examinations, spread across 8,265 examination centers.
