Jeffin Ani Johns, 28, CEO & co-founder of BrandKeeda shares how important it is to think like a customer to apply them as an entrepreneur

Q. What were the main challenges you encountered when you started as an entrepreneur? And do you still face them to this day?

The major challenges that I faced when I started my venture were lack of acceptance as a startup to business client network and understanding of legalities, especially of business formation. Currently, also, the challenges do exist, but only to a minor level.

Q. What is unique about your organization BrandKeeda?

The major business service of BrandKeeda is to help startups and MSME’s to create themselves as a ‘brand’ rather than just existing or surviving as a mere ‘product’ or ‘service’ in the market. The major unique factor about BrandKeeda is the variety in terms of services offered under a variety of price ranges that enable BrandKeeda in delivering a cost-effective yet, result-oriented branding activity for a new age startup as well as a 50-year-old MSME.

Q. Who has been your greatest inspiration?

My greatest inspiration had been my father. As he himself is a successful entrepreneur and is one of my greatest mentors of all time in terms of business.

Q. What business-related book has inspired you the most?

One of the books that inspired the most had been “Stay Hungry Stay Foolish” by Rashmi Bansal.

Q. What piece of advice would you give to the students who want to become entrepreneurs?

The best business ideas are created when you think like a customer to understand the ‘need in the market’ and think like an entrepreneur to create ‘solutions for those needs’. Aspiring entrepreneurs need to analyze, understand their own skill sets and vision in order to create, survive & expand their business idea. As the majority of business ventures especially in India fails before completing even 365 days due to lack of competency of the entrepreneur to run the business rather than changing business environment.
