Tripura Government is about to introduce e-attendance system for teachers and students

by

The Tripura government has decided to introduce an electronic attendance system for both teachers and students across all 4,912 government schools. This initiative aims to improve the quality of education and performance.

Under the Vidya Samiksha Kendra, initially inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi in Gujarat back in 2022, this move is expected to enhance transparency in educational processes and school management.

Over a span of two years, the e-attendance system will be rolled out with the objective to digitalise academic operations for improved monitoring and efficiency.

The process of implementing the e-attendance system for teachers and students in all 4,912 government schools will be completed within a two-year period.

Upon completion, a geo-tagging system will be incorporated, allowing online accessibility to essential school-related information.

This initiative follows the successful introduction of e-attendance in government offices such as the civil secretariat and the administration headquarters.

Currently, the state employs 37,761 teachers across its 4,912 government schools, catering to 6,94,539 students from elementary to higher secondary levels.

Once the e-attendance system is implemented in all schools, the chief minister, along with relevant ministers and senior officials, will monitor the performance of teachers and schools closely.

The education department official emphasized the importance of the e-attendance system, anticipating positive impacts on education delivery.
