On Tuesday a Letter of Intent (LoI) was signed between Niti Aayogs Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) and Unicef India in order to provide an open platform which can promote participation, skilling & empowerment among young children across different communities. The LoI was signed by Unicef representative in India, Yasmin Ali Haque, and Mission Director, Atal Innovation Mission, Ramanathan Ramanan.
With a focus on child rights, this plan is to orient the burgeoning innovation ecosystem towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals that will be implemented through Atal Tinkering Lab initiative. Last year too, the lead was taken by Niti Aayog with Unicef India in catalysing a national partnership of committed stakeholders – YuWaah! This was done to expand socio-economic opportunities for India’s young people, especially those from marginalized groups.
The Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATLs) is being established by Atal Innovation Mission in schools across India. The basic objective of Niti Aayogs Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) and Unicef India scheme is to inculcate curiosity, creativity and imagination in young minds.
