With great fervor and respect, Delhi Public School Varanasi celebrated Teachers’ Day on September 5th, 2024, honoring those who are referred to as the “architects of learning”. This year’s celebration was especially significant as it brought together not only DPS Varanasi but also its sister branches — DPS Nashik, DPS Pune, and DPS Hinjawadi — in a unique, unified celebration. For the first time, Founder Mr Pradeep Rajgarhia, Director Mr. Pankaj Rajgarhia, PRO VC Mr. Gautam Rajgarhia, Chief Learner & Director Mr Siddharth Rajgarhia, addressed all branches in an online session, creating a sense of shared celebration and camaraderie across campuses.
The celebration was orchestrated entirely by the students, who demonstrated their heartfelt appreciation through a series of thoughtfully prepared events. The day began with a reverent welcome and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the light of knowledge that teachers impart to their students. A poignant tribute was paid to two beloved faculty members, the late Ms. Indrani Sen and Mr. Arif Hussain, whose legacies continue to inspire the entire school community.
The students’ efforts to honor their teachers unfolded through various vibrant performances. From soul-stirring songs to dynamic dance performances, each act was a testament to the gratitude and admiration the students hold for their mentors. The enthusiasm & admiration in all those present during the celebration was palpable, as students offered their artistic talents as a gesture of gratitude, filling the space with joy and appreciation.
A key highlight of the celebration was the felicitation ceremony, where teachers were recognized for their exceptional commitment and achievements in categories such as perfect attendance, long-standing service of 10 and 20 years, outstanding performance in their subjects, and achieving the highest subject averages in classes X and XII. This segment served as a reminder that, while teachers plant the seeds of knowledge, their dedication nurtures a forest of young minds.
In a moving address, the Principal of DPS Varanasi Mr Mukesh Shelat reflected on the invaluable role teachers play in shaping the future, describing them as “guiding stars in a sky full of potential”. Mr Shelat acknowledged the unwavering dedication of every educator, whose influence extends far beyond the classroom.
The celebration also included a joyful and lively Antakshari exclusively for teachers, bringing a burst of laughter and light-heartedness to the proceedings. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing deep gratitude to all who contributed to making the day a memorable one.
This year’s Teachers’ Day celebration was not merely an event but a heartfelt expression of unity, admiration, and respect. It was a day that echoed with the shared values and collective spirit of the entire DPS family, reaffirming the belief that teachers are not just educators, but torchbearers of knowledge and wisdom, guiding students on their journey of growth and discovery. By joining together in this celebration, the DPS branches showed that no matter what the distance may be, the spirit of learning and gratitude can bridge any gap.
