The Uttar Pradesh government has postponed the UP Board exams scheduled for February 24, 2025, in Prayagraj. The ongoing Maha Kumbh has brought huge crowds, making it difficult to conduct the exams smoothly. Officials will announce the new dates soon.
State Minister of Secondary Education, Gulab Devi, UP Board stated that nearly 57 crore devotees have taken a holy dip in the Sangam. The large gathering has created logistical challenges, leading to the postponement.
The government has also introduced strict anti-cheating measures. Those caught cheating will face serious consequences. Officials who fail to perform their duties may receive up to seven years in prison and a fine. Anyone threatening exam officials could face 10 years in jail and a 10 lakh fine.
Maha Kumbh, one of the world’s largest religious gatherings, continues to attract millions. The decision aims to ensure a fair exam process while respecting the significance of the festival.
