by

The high school and intermediate exams conducted by the UP Board started with unprecedented cheating aimed at preventing cheating. This resulted in more than 3 lakh students opting out of the exams on the first day. The stringent measures comprised the implementation of ID cards equipped with barcodes for room inspectors, severe surveillance through CCTV cameras and police monitoring, as well as online supervision of examination centers at different levels.

On the opening day, a significant number of candidates were absent, with a total of 3,33,541 students across both shifts. Additionally, there were five reported incidents of cheating, leading to subsequent actions against the offenders, which included fake candidates and a center administrator. Acknowledging the need for increased vigilance, the UP Board implemented additional measures to discourage cheating.

To prevent the infiltration of fake room inspectors, teachers were equipped with ID cards containing barcodes in an unprecedented move.

In addition, stringent monitoring was enforced in critical examination centers, aided by the installation of CCTV cameras equipped with voice recorders.

The increased presence of the UP Police in both sensitive and highly sensitive examination centers further emphasized the dedication to maintaining the integrity of the exams.

The implementation of thorough online monitoring at different administrative levels, covering strong rooms and examination centers, represented a notable advancement in bolstering the security of question papers.

Command and control rooms were set up in pivotal administrative offices, such as the Directorate of Education in Lucknow and the Secondary Education Council Headquarters in Prayagraj, as well as in regional centers. Furthermore, control rooms at the district level were established to strengthen monitoring endeavors throughout the state.
