UP Government to Change School Timings under NEP

The UP government is all set to change the school timings under the National Educational Policy. According to the policy, schools are to lessen the study hours. From now on, there will be only 29 hours of teaching in schools per week. Classes will happen till 5:00 pm or 5:30 pm from Monday to Friday. Classes on second Saturdays will happen till 2:00 pm or 2:30 pm. Students will get a holiday on two Saturdays.

Also, the time limit for each class has been reduced from 45 minutes to 35 minutes. Classes on major subjects will stretch to 50 minutes. Major subjects will include Maths, Hindi, English, Science, etc. Students will also be allowed to attend 10 days of school in a year without their bags. Oral and experimental methods of teaching will be implemented.
