The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a major step toward enhancing non-government-aided secondary Sanskrit schools under Project Alankar. As part of this initiative, 11 Sanskrit schools across seven districts will undergo construction, renovation, and modernization to provide students with an improved learning environment.
Key Highlights of Project Alankar
The Yogi Adityanath-led government has allocated a ₹100-crore budget for the modernization of non-government-aided Sanskrit schools in the 2024-25 financial year. Schools meeting a minimum enrollment of 100 students will receive:
- New classrooms and renovated buildings
- Smart classrooms and science labs
- Boundary walls and improved sanitation
- Electrification and infrastructure upgrades
A government order has been issued to implement these improvements across seven districts.
District-Wise Upgrades
- Deoria – Durgee Ji Sanskrit Higher Secondary School, Ahilyapur, Barhaj will receive new classrooms, boundary walls, and sanitation facilities.
- Ayodhya – Shri Raghuvar Sanskrit Higher Secondary School, Swargadwar, will have two new classrooms, while Shri Balwant Adarsh Sanskrit Higher Secondary School, Dugwa, Devgarh, will undergo renovation of five classrooms and the construction of one new classroom.
- Gautam Buddh Nagar – Gurukul Higher Secondary Sanskrit School, Sikandrabad, Mandi Shyam Nagar, will have six classrooms and stairways built.
- Azamgarh – Shri Dharma Sanskrit Higher Secondary School, Jindopur, will get one new classroom.
- Varanasi – Five Sanskrit schools will be upgraded, including:

6. Shahjahanpur – Savitri Devi Dharmik Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, Tilhar, will receive two new classrooms and a toilet facility.
