The decision was taken due to persistence vacancies in the secondary education department and the sustained absence of 1500-2000 teachers due to medical, maternity, or childcare leave, with durations ranging from 15 days to six months in the state.
Secretary of Higher Education, Shailesh Baugoli, stated that the continuous absence of teachers is affecting students’ studies and the overall quality of education drastically.
