Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district: All government, private schools to remain shut

Swati S Bhadoriya Chamoli District Magistrate has declared holiday to all government, private schools and Anganwadi in the district. The schools will be closed tomorrow in view of India Meteorological Department’s forecast of rainfall in the region.

To speed up the rescue and relief operations in Chamoli, as directed to the administration by Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.

Since the past few days, the state has been receiving heavy rainfall, causing several landslides and the rivers to swell.

Due to heavy rains in Chamoli Ghat, many people lost their lives. To the families of the deceased who lost their lives, Rawat expressed his condolences. Financial help will be provided to the affected people in the district, as per the directions are given by Rawat.

Uttarakhand’s State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) said, six people were killed following a cloudburst in Chamoli’s Ghat area.
