Tijay Gupta, Co-founder, and COO of Bachpan and AHPS Group of schools talk about the success of his pre-schools, their approach towards education, and the importance of the values they impart to children from a young age.
When we came up with the concept of Bachpan (our preschool brand) in the year 2004, it was a concept that was largely unexplored in the country. This meant that. we had to start everything from scratch, engage in rigorous research and development, and learn from the best international models to give the strongest foundation to every child out there. Our schools and teachers have played a major role in making our vision come true. The journey was not easy, to be sure, but it was as adventurous as it could be.
We launched our Bachpan Play School on the franchise model and took it to every nook and corner of the country. The idea was to provide a home away from home to preschoolers and help them live their ‘bachpan’ in the best and most fun-learning way possible. Our learning technologies added to the teaching methodologies of the caring and understanding teachers that we have at Bachpan.
We hold regular training for the teachers, counselors, and other school staff to keep them up to date, and they have always risen to our expectations. The fact that our Speak-O-Kit, Robotime, AR/VR Rooms, and Smart Classes have met with so much success at Bachpan simply makes us proud of all the hard work we put in as a team and the constant innovations we came up with.
Bachpan is continuously rewarded for being the top play school chain in the country. Needless to say, these achievements are a joint effort of our Head Office and 1100+ Bachpan schools.
One of the challenges we faced during the initial years was that the kind of innovative tech-learning we provided to our Bachpanites did not have an appropriate extension in any formal school. But then, we launched our formal school brand, AHPS (Academic Heights Public School), in the year 2009 and successfully addressed the challenge by setting up a new benchmark.
The days of the pandemic were challenging like they were for every segment. Traditional learning and virtual learning were face-to-face with each other. But what turned out was that the combination of the two makes a perfect pair, and so we created an opportunity out of this challenge, too, and came up with Bachpan Live.
We teach the strong values of optimism, willpower, and perseverance at Bachpan not only through words but also through actions. We always strive to stay one of a kind because ‘bachpan’ comes only once in every kid’s life!
