Jamia Middle School Declares Two-Day Closure
Jamia Millia Islamia has announced that its Middle School will observe a two-day holiday for the assembly elections. According to an official statement, both students and staff will be on leave on February 4 and 5 to facilitate election-related arrangements. The school premises will be handed over to authorities for polling preparations, as mentioned in the notice.
What Will Remain Open on Election Day?
Although schools and colleges will be closed, essential services such as hospitals and pharmacies will function as usual. Grocery stores, restaurants, and retail outlets are expected to remain open. Public transportation will also be adjusted to ensure voters can reach polling stations conveniently.
Delhi Metro and DTC Services on February 5
To accommodate voters, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will start operations at 4 AM on polling day. Trains will run every 30 minutes until 6 AM, after which normal schedules will resume. Additionally, the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) will introduce extra buses on 35 routes from 4 AM, ensuring sufficient travel options for both voters and election staff.
