World’s biggest teacher training programme to be launched by HRD Ministry

The “world’s biggest project” for teacher training will be launched by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) on August 22, 2019, in order to train over 42 lakh teachers across the country. The teacher training is- NISHTHA (National Initiative on School Teachers Head Holistic Advancement).

Yaduvendra Mathur, Special Secretary, NITI Aayog said that it is important to upgrade their skills and ensure that they are trained in the best way as teachers are the pillars of society.

The complete details about teacher training were informed by Rina Ray, Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, MHRD.   

She added further that around 19,000 teacher-training institutes across the country have been mapped and put on Google Earth. Users can go online to check their report cards, to give their feedback and also to see the geographical location of these institutes around the country.
