The Shri Ram Universal School, Noida, is embracing artificial intelligence (AI) to transform education, under the visionary leadership of Director Jay Kumar Singh. By integrating AI into classrooms and administrative processes, the school is enhancing learning experiences while preserving the human essence of teaching.
Singh views AI as a vital tool to amplify teachers’ impact. “AI is not about replacing teachers but about helping them focus on what truly matters: inspiring, mentoring, and nurturing young minds,” he asserts. The school employs AI platforms for adaptive learning, automated quiz creation, and streamlined administration, significantly boosting student engagement. Singh notes, “When I walk into a flipped classroom and see students debating, collaborating, and venturing beyond the textbook, I am assured that AI is making a meaningful impact.”
AI’s ability to personalise learning excites Singh most. “I’ve seen shy students bloom with the confidence that comes from targeted support, and advanced learners flourish when challenged at just the right level,” he shares. These tailored platforms, from math exercises to language apps, cater to individual student needs, fostering inclusivity.
However, challenges like digital infrastructure, equitable access, and teacher training persist. Singh emphasises inclusivity, stating, “I constantly weigh the urgency of innovation against the responsibility of inclusivity—ensuring no child or teacher is left behind.” To address this, the school prioritises AI literacy workshops for teachers, cultivating a culture of lifelong learning.
Singh also stresses ethical AI use, with robust data protocols and adherence to WHO screen time guidelines. Looking ahead, he envisions a 2030 where AI frees teachers for mentorship and creativity, echoing Sundar Pichai’s belief: “The future of AI is not about replacing humans, it’s about augmenting human capabilities.” With systemic support, Singh believes AI can make education a great equaliser, nurturing smarter, better humans.
