As part of IIT Madras’ SAARANG 2023 festival, AI World School successfully organized a series of one-day workshops on “Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Living” for students in Grades 9 to 12 from 11 Jan to 14 Jan 2023. The workshop had a tremendous response with over 500+ Students from 15+ Schools participating in it.
The workshop began with an introduction session on how Artificial Intelligence has become so interlocked with the day-to-day operational processes of major sectors like Healthcare, Energy, Transportation to name a few and how it can be used to make our planet a better place to live in.
It also highlighted how certain scientific researchers, managers, industry leaders, and other individuals are leveraging the data-driven power of artificial intelligence in multiple operations to make it error free and improve quality of living. The students were then demonstrated computer vision applications and how machine-learning models are trained to detect various objects such as people, books, pencils, and animals.
The workshop concluded with a Q&A session between the students and the technical experts to clear any doubts in their minds. Students and their teachers who participated also shared feedback on what they learned about artificial intelligence and how they intend to make India a leader in AI in future.
Mr. Ramana Prasad, the chairman of AI World School, stated that workshops like this allow students to ‘do’ rather than merely ‘study’ about new technologies like artificial intelligence. Students get an understanding of AI and robotics via practical and hands-on experiences. Students develop an interest in STEM subjects and are more engaged and interactive in the workshop.
