The STEM scholarship provides a great opportunity for STEM women scholars from South Asian countries.
The British Council announced the British Council Scholarship for Women in STEM 2023-24. The Council is offering 26 Scholarships and fellowships to women STEM scholars from South Asian countries, including India.
The selected scholars will be able to pursue a degree in masters or an Early Academic Fellowship at a university in UK. The scholarship covers tuition fees, stipend, travel cost, visa, health coverage fees, special support for mothers and English language support. It also lays down a long lasting platform for the scholars to connect with the UK through active engagement in the alumni network and to inspire the coming generation of STEM woman scholars.
This will also provide a chance to women scholars to promote research and innovation in their home countries with the help of their exposure in STEM fields in the UK. The scholarships are awarded to the students on the basis of merit with no country specific cap.
The STEM woman scholars can apply for Master’s course and Early Academic Fellowships across 21 universities in UK for courses like Computer Science, Data Science, Biotechnology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Medicine, Public Health, Machine Learning, Robotics, Information Technology, Renewable Energy and Energy Management and many other courses.
21 Indian women received the scholarship in the year 2021-22 and are currently pursuing their education in the UK.
