Omkar, a Grade 10 student at the Canadian International School (CIS), Bangalore, has struck all the right notes with a series of international accomplishments that have placed him firmly on the global music stage.

He recently received a Distinction in Music Composition and Theory (Grade 5) from the Royal Schools of Music, London—an accolade that highlights his mastery of both technical skill and creative expression. Adding to his laurels, Omkar also achieved a Distinction in Violin Performance, demonstrating exceptional dedication and talent.

Earlier this year, Omkar performed at the historic Godollo Palace in Hungary, captivating audiences with a violin recital that earned widespread admiration in one of Europe’s renowned cultural venues.

Omkar shared that music has taught him “discipline, joy, and resilience,” and credited CIS and his teachers for nurturing an environment that allows him to balance academics and artistic pursuits.

His father, Suvabrata Sinha, reflected on his son’s journey, noting that Omkar’s passion for the violin began as a personal choice and has since evolved into a deep love for both performance and composition.

Kevin Thomas, High School Principal at CIS, praised Omkar’s achievements, stating that his success exemplifies how academic rigour and creative excellence can go hand in hand.

Omkar’s accomplishments are a shining example of how young Indian talent continues to make its mark on international platforms, supported by dedicated mentors and schools that champion holistic growth.
