Addy was a young boy entering his teens. It was a pleasant sunny day when Addy was attending his online classes. Even though it is an online class, Addy was very attentive because it was his favourite class – Art! He wasn’t able to go to the class offline because he lives far away.
After finishing his class, Addy realised he was tired from working on a piece and decided to take a nap. But soon did he know, he would experience a very odd dream…
It was a scalding hot day when Addy was playing around, he went inside his house and got himself an ice pop from the tiny freezer section of his refrigerator. After enjoying his treat he saw his mother writing something on a paper. He went up to her to find out what she was doing and was told that his mother was writing a letter to his granny about how they had to do and just simply catching up to life. He saw her slip a recent photograph they took into the envelope as well.
When his mother finished preparing the letter to be mailed she felt the temperature and told Addy that his evening class could be cancelled due to the hot weather. Addy was disappointed but not surprised. This was normal after all.
Addy woke up with a jolt and realised what a weird dream he had witnessed. He dreamed about a day in life some 20-30 years ago! He looked around trying to process the surroundings around him compared to the ones in his dream. He felt grateful for the AC in his room keeping him nice and cool. He was happy that he could call his grandparents whenever through Facetime, Skype etc. Moreover, he was glad to be able still to have a class through online means when there are weather or any transport issues.
He was amazed by how far our technology has come forth and how efficient it made our lives. It was so great that we had to suffer so many issues compared to the past. He felt immense gratitude to the people who work so much to make our lives advance for years to come.
Key Message: Sometimes we should look back and see how far we have come. It is important to realise how we started and how much we were able to grow.
