Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with students during the second episode of Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026 on Sunday, sharing guidance on exam preparation, managing stress, career choices, leadership, technology, and holistic learning.
The annual outreach programme aims to help students view examinations as a positive and confidence-building experience, while promoting emotional well-being and self-belief during the exam season.
Focus On Exams, Learning And Personal Growth
During the interaction, PM Modi advised students to focus on discipline over short-term motivation, saying that while motivation can initiate action, discipline is what sustains progress. “Discipline is the key. Inspiration only adds to it,” he said.
On improving academic performance, he encouraged students to teach peers who are weaker in studies, explaining that teaching strengthens one’s own understanding of concepts.
Career Choices And Leadership
Responding to questions on career confusion, the Prime Minister said it is natural for students to feel drawn to multiple options. He advised students not to be impressed by success alone, but to learn from the struggles and humble beginnings of successful individuals.
On leadership, PM Modi said leadership is not about authority or elections, but about the ability to understand and persuade others, stressing that meaningful communication begins with empathy.
Technology, AI And Future Careers
Addressing concerns around artificial intelligence and technology, PM Modi said technology should not be feared, but used wisely. He cautioned students against becoming overly dependent on digital tools, adding that technology should act as an enabler rather than a replacement for thinking and effort.
“The nature of jobs will keep changing, as it always has,” he said, urging students to adapt while maintaining control over their use of technology.
Balancing Interests And Studies
On balancing academics with creative pursuits such as art and design, PM Modi encouraged students to integrate creativity into learning rather than treating it as separate from studies. He also suggested using art as a way to relieve exam stress.
Contribution To Viksit Bharat
When asked about contributing to the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, PM Modi said nation-building begins with everyday habits such as cleanliness, discipline, and responsible civic behaviour. He also highlighted initiatives like ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Wed in India’ as ways young citizens can contribute to national development.
