The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled the CTET 2026 Paper 2 examination at two centres in Bihar due to unavoidable circumstances. The board said a re-examination will be conducted within 15 days, with revised dates to be announced shortly.
In an official notice posted on X, CBSE said the examination could not be held at St John’s Academy, Basmati Nagar (Centre Code 125016) and Lakshya International Academy (Centre Code 125014), both located in Vaishali (Hajipur).
CBSE clarified that Paper 2 was conducted successfully at 1,801 of the 1,803 examination centres across the country. Only candidates allotted to the two affected centres will be required to appear for the re-examination. Details regarding the revised schedule will be communicated separately to them.
The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 is being conducted on February 7 and 8 in 132 cities nationwide in pen-and-paper mode. This year, over 25.3 lakh candidates registered for the examination, with more than 7.6 lakh applications received in the final 48 hours before the registration deadline on December 18.
CTET consists of two papers. Paper 1 is meant for candidates aspiring to teach Classes 1 to 5, while Paper 2 is for those aiming to teach Classes 6 to 8. The examination includes multiple-choice questions on child development and pedagogy, languages, and subject-specific areas.
Conducted twice a year by CBSE, CTET is a national-level eligibility test required for teaching positions in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, and other government and aided schools across the country.
