Recognizing the universal appeal of Yoga, owing to its demonstrated benefits for health and towards stress relief, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) proclaimed 21st June as the International Day of Yoga (IDY) on 11th December 2014. On the occasion of International Yoga Day 2023, schools across India have taken this opportunity to make students and parents aware about the rewards that Yoga offers for health and well-being.

At Gitanjali Devshala, the pre-primary students celebrated International Yoga day by performing yoga asanas on the campus. The event began with a discussion on the significance and benefits of practicing yoga. The teachers then demonstrated various asanas and poses like butterfly, rat, cobra, cow, cat, dog, elephant, flamingo, and buzzing bee. The children were happy to participate in the rhythmic yoga session. The interactive and engaging session received a positive response, reflecting our commitment to inculcate a healthy and holistic approach to life from a young age.
