Maharashtra Class 12 Board Exams Begin Today, Over 13 Lakh Students To Appear

by Triparna Ray

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has begun the Class 12 (HSC) board examinations today, February 10, 2026, which will continue until March 11, 2026. Over 13 lakh students are appearing for the exams across 3,387 centres in the state.

To ensure smooth movement of students, the Thane traffic police has deployed 54 riders to assist candidates appearing for both Class 10 and Class 12 exams in reaching their examination centres without delay. According to officials, Thane has 223 centres for Class 10 and 126 centres for Class 12 spread across Zones 1 to 5, with dedicated helpline numbers issued for traffic-related assistance.

Students have been advised to reach exam centres at least 30 minutes before the start of the examination. They must be in full school uniform, carry their school ID cards, and bring their own stationery, including black and blue pens, pencil, eraser, scale, and sharpener.

As in previous years, question papers will not be distributed in advance. Instead, students will be given an additional 10 minutes at the end to read the question paper.

To help reduce exam-related stress, the board has also launched helpline numbers with trained counsellors, and divisional offices have shared contact details of teachers to assist students with academic doubts.
