The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the rollout of nationwide capacity-building programmes for Skill Education for teachers of Classes 6 to 8, beginning February 2026. The initiative will be implemented by the Board’s Skill Education Division.
According to CBSE, the programme aims to equip school leaders and teachers with practical classroom strategies to effectively integrate skill-based learning into the middle school curriculum. The Board said the initiative is part of its effort to strengthen the quality and relevance of education at the foundational and middle-school levels.
The month-long training programme will be conducted throughout February at select CBSE-affiliated schools serving as host institutions. Workshops will be held across multiple cities, including Faridabad, New Delhi, Noida, Ranchi, Ghaziabad, Bengaluru, and other locations.
The training sessions will follow an activity-based format, enabling active participation by teachers, vice-principals, and principals. Sessions will run from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm and will focus on real-world classroom applications, with special emphasis on the use of NCERT’s Kaushal Bodh textbooks to promote experiential learning and interdisciplinary skill development.
CBSE has clarified that the training programmes will be conducted free of cost, though participants will need to bear their own travel and accommodation expenses. Schools have been advised to inform host institutions in advance to ensure proper allocation of seats and access to training materials.
Participants will also be trained to function as master trainers, enabling them to disseminate Skill Education practices within their schools and across their regions.
The Board said the initiative reflects CBSE’s continued commitment to embedding Skill Education as a core component of its academic framework, with a focus on improving learning outcomes and ensuring effective classroom implementation of policy-driven reforms.
