Delhi schools will introduce a new subject, ‘Science of Living’, which will include geriatric care, yoga, and self-improvement as part of the curriculum for Kindergarten to Class 10 students. This course, developed by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), will focus on meditation, awareness, and flexibility exercises, enhancing students’ mental and physical well-being.
Additionally, the education department is working on new Artificial Intelligence (AI) courses to help students adapt to the evolving tech landscape. An official from SCERT stated, “With technology advancing rapidly, upgrading skills is crucial. We are launching new courses and activities to prepare students for a future-oriented tech environment.”
Entrepreneurship & Governance Initiatives
To promote business and leadership skills, Delhi schools will introduce:
- New Era of Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and Vision (NEV): A fresh entrepreneurial learning programme offering hands-on business exposure, unlike the current Business Blasters initiative.
- ‘Rashtraneeti’ Programme: A course designed to provide practical knowledge of governance, democracy, active citizenship, and policymaking, fostering civic awareness among students.
