STUDENT GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS IN MY SCHOOL
FACTUAL RECOUNT
Votes are very precious, only 1 vote can define the difference between the elected leader and the opposition. The ballot is stronger than the bullet.” On the election day in the school, when every student first entered the class, they greeted their teacher. The teacher gave them a few announcements about the election that is being held. After that, one by one, each class was called down to the lobby of the leadership block. In the lobby were 4 voting booths, each securely guarded by a paper box. Inside the booth, there was a tablet kept, through which a google form was provided. They first voted for their President and Vice-president. After that, they selected their house after which they started electing their house captain and vice-captain, followed by the prefect of their grade level. After they finished, their facilitator put a mark on their fingers to indicate that they had voted. They then went back to their class and waited for the others to come back. Once everyone was back, they resumed their classes.
PERSONAL RECOUNT
On election day, in the bus ride while going to school, I eagerly discussed with my friends about whom each of us wanted to elect. Later in class, I was instructed by my facilitator about the further proceedings of the day. After that, While we eagerly waited to vote, me and my class were called down to the lobby to start our voting process. I saw 4 booths. When it was my turn, I anxiously made my way towards one of the booths. I started electing my leaders. First I elected my president, followed by the vice-president. After that I selected my house and voted for the captain and vice-captain of my house. Then I selected my grade level and elected the prefect. After that, I headed towards my facilitator who then put a mark on my index finger. I was very excited, voting again after years. I felt some positive vibes in my body. After that, I headed back to our class. While I was waiting for the others to come back, I discussed my feelings while I was in the booth, voting, with my friends. Once the other and my teacher came back we resumed our classes.
